Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Adjunct Instructor - Fire (Non-Credit) to join our team. As an instructor, you will be responsible for providing quality academic curriculum, instruction, assessment, and ensuring a productive and challenging learning experience for our students. This position will primarily involve face-to-face instruction, and you will be expected to promote social justice within the division and the larger academic institution.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and uphold the College values of Learning, Excellence, Accountability, Diversity, Student Success, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect
- Deliver courses in multiple modes of delivery, including modern classroom, interactive distance learning, online, or hybrid/blended formats
- Develop and deliver instructional design activities, address and refer student concerns, and guide and support students on a one-to-one basis
- Monitor student progress, conduct student evaluations, and provide input on division accreditation and student records
- Integrate the college SuccessAbilities, program outcomes, and course competencies into your instruction
- Provide academic referrals, organize, develop, and deliver outcomes-based curriculum, and assess student learning
- Complete all required College training and maintain the skills necessary to complete the essential functions of the position
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years (6,000 hours) of verifiable related occupational experience
- NFPA 1001 Standard Firefighter II certification, WTCS Fire Instructor I Certification, or completion upon acceptance
- Valid Driver's License
- Eligible for/or meets WTCS Instructor certification, which includes occupational and professional experience and must be maintained
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- Teaching Experience
- CDL Level B License
- Individual program certification may be required and must be maintained (e.g., RN; public safety)
