Job Summary
We are seeking qualified candidates for part-time adjunct teaching positions in our Department of Biological Sciences. As an adjunct instructor, you will have the opportunity to teach one or more sections of introductory biology lecture and lab courses for majors or non-majors. Occasionally, you may be asked to teach a specialized course in your area of expertise. This is a great opportunity to share your knowledge, inspire students, and contribute to the academic excellence of our institution.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach one or more sections of introductory biology lecture and lab courses for majors or non-majors
 - Occasionally, teach a specialized course in your area of expertise
 - Hold one office hour per week per course taught on campus
 - Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans, assignments, and assessments
 - Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback
 - Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development
 
Qualifications
- Ph.D. or Master's degree (with 18 graduate hours in Biology) in any area of Biology required
 - Demonstrated potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching
 - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
 - Ability to work effectively with diverse students, faculty, and staff
 - Strong organizational and time management skills
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching experience at the undergraduate level
 - Experience with curriculum development and course design
 - Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies
 - Involvement in research or scholarly activities
 
Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of biological sciences, including genetics, ecology, evolution, and cell biology
