Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Learning Loss Leader to assist in planning, directing, and implementing curriculum to address learning loss related to COVID-19. The successful candidate will provide active supervision of students, maintain records to document compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures, and support teachers with student/classroom activities and instruction. This is a part-time position, working 20-29 hours per week, with an expected salary range of $15.00 - $17.00 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and assist teachers with student/classroom activities and instruction to address learning loss due to COVID-19
  • Provide active supervision of students and follow all health and safety practices
  • Participate in activities related to IEPs upon request
  • Participate in daily conferences, planning, and evaluations as appropriate
  • Comply with state and federal regulations that pertain to the position (e.g., OSHA)
  • Report the presence of unauthorized or atypical visitors
  • Confer with supervisors regarding progress, concerns, and recommendations
  • Maintain records and files as required
  • Plan and organize own work to meet priorities and deadlines
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Continuously update and improve professional competence with students
  • Supervise students in cafeteria and/or recess due to social distancing needs in direct response to COVID-19
  • Provide intervention and remediation to students with teacher assistance
  • Perform other duties consistent with the position as assigned

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma required
  • Educational Aide Permit or higher ODE licensure required or willing to obtain
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Willingness/ability to work as a team member
  • Good organizational skills
  • History of good job attendance
  • Demonstrate computer usage skills
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal skills
  • Good public relation skills
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision
  • Instructional strategies for intervention and remediation of students
  • Must pass criminal background checks, be free from communicable disease

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with students, particularly in an educational setting
  • Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
  • Experience with instructional support and remediation
  • Familiarity with special education programs and services

Skills and Competencies

  • Knowledge of Board policies and procedures, building policies and procedures, public relations, and state and federal reporting
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures, follow instructions, communicate effectively, maintain files and reports, collect data, schedule, and lift moderate amounts of weight
  • Skill in basic math, English, and communications
