Job Summary

The Library Media Assistant will provide essential support to the Library Media Specialist and school administrators, ensuring the smooth operation of library services and programs. Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring for eligible students, as needed
• Assist with classroom management in the library, including organizing instructional materials and resources
• Support students and staff with technology, as required
• Develop and implement parental involvement activities related to library/media services
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement best practices in the classroom, based on scientifically-based research
• Assist in managing library collections under the supervision of a qualified Library Media Specialist
• Represent the library's interests on site-based and school improvement committees
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Library Media Specialist or school administrators

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

• Successful completion of training at an accredited college or institution of higher learning
• Experience with one-on-one teaching practices
• Knowledge of library services and practices
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to positively interact with teachers, parents, and students

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience working in a library or educational setting
• Familiarity with educational technology and software applications
• Strong organizational and communication skills
