Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Long Term Substitute Teacher to provide instruction in Family Consumer Sciences to high school students in a remote setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering lesson plans, managing the classroom, and ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality instruction in Family Consumer Sciences, aligning with the District's curriculum and goals
  • Manage the classroom, maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, incorporating technology and assistive technology as needed
  • Assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues

Essential Qualifications

  • Professional Educator License (PEL) or Substitute License (SUB) through the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)

  • Strong knowledge of Family Consumer Sciences, with the ability to deliver engaging and informative instruction
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote setting, with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Family Consumer Sciences or related field
  • Experience with technology equipment and educational software
  • Certification in Family Consumer Sciences or related field
