Music Kids LLC is a pioneering instrumental education program dedicated to enriching student development through music. We're on a mission to bring musical instrument education into local school environments, and we're looking for passionate and talented Music Teachers to join our team in Silver Spring, MD. The Position: Music Teacher
As a Music Teacher with Music Kids, you'll be responsible for teaching small group classes in one or more of our area partner schools. You'll also have paid time outside of classes to manage student records, provide meaningful learning updates to parents, and support students virtually. This is a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students and contribute to the growth and development of our program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach beginning level violin, piano, and/or guitar to students in small group classes
- Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the needs and abilities of students
- Manage student records and provide regular progress updates to parents
- Support students virtually and provide additional learning resources as needed
- Promote the program and drive enrollment at partner school events
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- At least 1-2 years of teaching experience, either in music classes or a traditional classroom setting
- Ability to teach one or more instruments at a beginning level (curricular resources and assistance available)
- Strong interest in working with a wide range of student age groups, especially beginning level students
- Passion for having a direct impact on the primary education system
- Comfortable teaching students in small groups of 3-4 students
- Flexible and creative in teaching style with an open mind
- Ability to work independently and represent the organization as an employee at partner schools
- Reliable, organized, timely, and possesses friendly verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with leadership or project management
- Ability to teach multiple instruments at a beginning level (violin, piano, and guitar)
- Experience working with students aged 3-5 years old
- Owns a car to commute to/from partner schools (optional in some cases)
What We Offer
Competitive Salary and Benefits:
- Annual salary ranges for full-time (40 hr/week) 10 month positions: $45,760 - $68,640
- Additional benefits available for employees working 20+ hours, including PTO, retirement, and medical
