Job Summary
As a Pharmacy Technician Instructor, Adjunct with Penn Foster, you will be responsible for providing instructional support to students, ensuring they meet the established learning objectives and program outcomes. You will work independently as a contractor, utilizing distance education technologies to deliver academic support, and participate in curriculum design and development. Your expertise and guidance will help shape the next generation of pharmacy technicians, and you will play a critical role in the growth and development of our program.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one instructional support to students via phone, email, SMS text messaging, and portal messaging
- Offer daily office hours for tutoring via an appointment scheduling tool
- Provide substantial feedback on practicum skills assessment forms and evaluate clinical lab skills completed by students prior to externship
- Participate in curriculum design, development, and revision, including the creation of student resources such as weekly live and/or recorded webinars and learning resource materials
- Utilize program learning outcomes to monitor student progress daily and conduct outreach using distance education technologies to provide academic advising and support
- Participate in the externship experience, including evaluation of clinical sites, State BOP Tech/Trainee License, drug screen, and background check
- Provide data-driven interventions and outreach in the development of programming that meets changing industry needs
- Review program and course-level outcomes data and surveys to determine students' needs and provide data-driven interventions/outreach as needed
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum of an Associate Degree
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a practice setting or area of expertise related to the area of teaching
- Classroom and/or online teaching experience preferred
- Ability to obtain a New York State D.O.E. Online Teacher License (if not already certified)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- Experience with distance education technologies and learning management systems
- Familiarity with pharmacy technician education and industry standards
