Job Summary

The Full Stack Security Analyst will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating security risks across the organization. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement security policies, procedures, and controls to protect American Express's assets and data. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of security frameworks, regulations, and industry standards, as well as experience with security information analysis and risk management.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and controls to protect American Express's assets and data.
  • Conduct security risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigation and remediation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration on security-related matters.
  • Participate in the assessment of security tools and technologies to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
  • Collaborate with the security team to develop and implement incident response plans and procedures.
  • Provide training and awareness programs to employees on security best practices and policies.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats and trends, and provide recommendations for updates to security policies and procedures.
  • Conduct security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of security processes and procedures.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of security awareness programs for employees.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you'll need to possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in security risk management, compliance, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., NIST, PCI-DSS, HIPAA).
  • Experience with security information analysis and risk management tools and technologies.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with security awareness programs and training.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

In addition to the essential qualifications and skills, we're looking for candidates with the following preferred qualifications and skills:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or a related field.
  • CISSP, CISM, or CEH certification.
  • Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
  • Experience with cloud security and compliance.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++).
  • Experience with security testing and vulnerability assessment.
