About Delta Airlines and the Retail Servicing Data Strategy

Delta's Retail Strategy focuses on building products, offering the best product to customers in their channel of choice, and adjusting those products when plans change. The Enterprise Solutions (ES) team is at the forefront of this initiative, and we're looking for a Senior Data Product Manager to spearhead our Servicing Data strategy. This role will be responsible for developing a comprehensive data strategy that supports our current and new products, driving business insights, and fostering collaboration across departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Form the vision for Delta's Retail Servicing data: Develop a clear understanding of our data needs and create a roadmap for implementing a robust data strategy.
  • Identify Retail Servicing data gaps: Analyze existing data and identify areas where we need to improve our data collection and analysis capabilities.
  • Build a roadmap that drives the vision and closes Retail Servicing data gaps: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop a comprehensive plan for implementing our data strategy.
  • Define and assemble data models: Design and implement data models that can transform unstructured data into actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with agile development teams: Work closely with development teams to implement our data strategy and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Analyze data to inform improvement roadmaps: Use data analysis to identify areas for improvement and inform our business decisions.
  • Work with business and IT partners: Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure that our data strategy meets business needs and is technically feasible.
  • Effectively communicate with business and technical audiences: Develop clear and concise messaging to communicate our data strategy and insights to various stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Ability to see large, unstructured datasets: You should be comfortable working with complex data sets and have the ability to identify patterns and insights.
  • Understanding of data modeling and modern software engineering styles: You should have a strong background in data modeling and be familiar with modern software engineering practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: You should be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven track record of understanding and improving complex processes: You should have a proven ability to analyze complex processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Experience translating business vision into technical requirements: You should have experience working with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment: You should be able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and be comfortable with minimal supervision.
  • Results-driven and able to meet deadlines: You should be driven to deliver results and be able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Embracing diversity and prioritizing safety and security: You should be committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment and prioritizing the safety and security of yourself, others, and personal data.

Preferred Qualifications

To give you a competitive edge, you'll ideally have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field: A degree in a field such as Economics, Statistics, Data Analysis, or Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience in an airline business or operations capability: Experience working in an airline or related industry is highly desirable, particularly in areas such as Reservations, ACS, E-commerce, Revenue Management, Sales, or IT.
