About the Role
This is a full-time position within the Revenue Accounting Group of the Finance Division at American Airlines. As a Specialist II, you'll be responsible for performing fundamental accounting functions, researching and resolving accounting discrepancies, and completing data entry tasks. You'll work closely with our team to achieve departmental and company-wide goals and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform fundamental accounting functions, including reviewing accounting data, processing passenger ticket and ancillary refund requests, and preparing journal vouchers.
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies in a timely manner, communicating with external contacts as necessary.
- Complete data entry tasks related to accounting information, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Adjust and review daily passenger ticket and ancillary refund requests, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Distribute and store month-end closing reports, maintaining organized and easily accessible records.
- Perform various ad-hoc tasks as assigned by management to support the achievement of departmental and company-wide goals.

Essential Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED Equivalency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of general accounting principles and procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
- Experience in airline or travel industry accounting.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, procedures, and regulations.
