As a Senior Counsel, Digital Products, Data Analytics & Intellectual Property, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert legal counsel and guidance to business leaders across various specialty units within Walgreens' Digital and Data Analytics/Insights Organizations.
About the Role
This is a full-time, remote opportunity based in Idaho, USA, offering a competitive hourly rate of $20-$30. As a Senior Counsel, you will be responsible for:
- Providing legitimate counsel and suggestions to activity leaders and the board on complex issues that may impact business exercises and tasks.
- Demonstrating mastery in technology transactions, product guidance, intellectual property, marketing, security, and data protection regulations.
- Drafting and negotiating numerous business agreements, including master services agreements, supplier agreements, data licensing/joining, and supply plans.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams across Walgreens Digital Product and Data Analytics groups, as well as external partners, to build, deploy, and operate technology for client and patient use.
- Working closely with business, product, marketing, protection, security, and technology teams to launch digital product and service offerings.
- Developing and executing intellectual property portfolio strategies that facilitate business objectives, capture innovation investments, and limit legal risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize knowledge of legal specialty to provide advice within the business context.
- Review and prepare organizational documents for execution to ensure accurate expression of legal content.
- Collaborate with specialty units to achieve corporate targets and mitigate unnecessary business risk.
- Research legal principles and precedents, engage and manage external counsel, draft organizational documents, and gather relevant case-related data.
- Provide work direction to other professional, paraprofessional, and clerical staff in developing solutions to problems presented.
Essential Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited graduate school.
- At least 5 years of post-bar lawyer legal work experience in a combination of law firm and corporate settings.
- Required licensure to provide legal counsel in at least one state.
- Required Illinois bar enrollment or active bar membership on favorable terms in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Experience using time management skills, such as prioritizing/organizing and following details, and meeting time constraints of various tasks with changing deadlines.
- At least 5 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
- At least 5 years of direct supervision, indirect management, and/or cross-functional team leadership.

- Ability to act in a fast-paced environment where prioritization and the ability to work independently are necessary for success.
