We're now seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join our Global Vendor and Organization Services (GM&NS) Estimating team on a part-time remote basis. As a key member of our team, you'll play a critical role in driving business growth and delivering exceptional client experiences.

About Our Team and the Role

The GM&NS Estimating team is responsible for managing American Express' largest source of revenue: Merchant Discount Income. Our team works closely with various stakeholders to determine optimal pricing strategies that drive merchant acceptance, inclusion, and satisfaction. As a Financial Analyst, you'll be responsible for analyzing and reporting merchant discount income, developing pricing scorecards, and driving process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create a Canada figure for merchant rebate income, tracking month-to-month execution against conjecture and identifying drivers of change.
  • Develop vendor rebate income scorecards for the Canada region, providing insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Drive normalization and process improvement among various regional pricing teams for all reporting and forecasting related activities.
  • Support external audits, investigating issues found, and collaborating with regional pricing teams to resolve problems.
  • Perform ad-hoc data analysis to assess rebate rate trends and uncover valuable insights.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • 2+ years of experience in financial services or payments industry, or other financial roles.
  • A four-year college degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • High proficiency in Excel, with the ability to develop complex financial models and analyze large datasets.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple requests.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to derive value-added insights from financial data.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as SAS/SQL is required.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to influence others and drive outcomes.
