About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Data Engineer to join our remote team at United Airlines. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our data-driven applications and systems. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement data pipelines and architectures that feed our business-critical systems.

• Develop and maintain streaming and real-time data pipelines using modern technologies such as Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, and Hadoop.

• Drive the adoption of data engineering practices and tools within the Hadoop ecosystem.
• Train and mentor junior engineers to develop their skills and expertise.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related STEM field.
• At least 3 years of experience in software development, with a focus on data engineering.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, and Scala.
• Experience with big data technologies such as PySpark, Hadoop, Hive, HBASE, Kafka, and Nifi.
• Experience with relational databases such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, and Teradata.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex data-related issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
