The University of Iowa's Tippie College of Business is seeking highly motivated and talented individuals for one or more tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Business Analytics. About the Department of Business Analytics
The Department of Business Analytics is at the forefront of research in Analytics, leveraging the power of data to drive better decision making. With a strong focus on interdisciplinary approaches, the department combines expertise from Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, Big Data, Applied Mathematics, Operations, and Business to tackle complex problems. Our faculty members are renowned for their research strengths in predictive analytics, particularly in healthcare, social issues, text, and social media, as well as supply-chain design and transportation.
The department offers a range of academic programs, including a BBA in Business Analytics and Information Systems, an MS in Business Analytics (both part-time and full-time), and a PhD degree. Through the Tippie Analytics Cooperative, we engage closely with local, national, and Fortune 500 companies to enhance student learning and stay at the cutting edge of industry trends.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct high-quality research in Business Analytics and related fields, publishing in top-tier academic journals.
- Teach and develop courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, contributing to the department's vibrant academic programs.
- Engage with the academic and professional communities through conference presentations, seminars, and collaborative projects.
- Participate in departmental and college service, including committee work and student advising.
- Contribute to the department's mission to drive innovation and excellence in Business Analytics.
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- A doctorate or strong evidence of completion by August 15, 2024, in Applied Mathematics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Informatics/Information Sciences, Logistics, Management Science, Operations Management/Supply Chain, Statistics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated potential for publishing high-quality research in top-tier academic journals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success in teaching and course development.
- Evidence of engagement with the academic and professional communities through conference presentations and collaborative projects.
