Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled dance coach to lead our Junior High and Junior Varsity dance teams. As Coach-JH/JV Dance Team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing practice and performance plans, guiding our student athletes through the dance season, and promoting a positive team culture. Key Responsibilities
- Coach and mentor Junior High and Junior Varsity dance teams in accordance with Albany Area Schools Athletics and Minnesota State High School League rules and regulations.
- Develop and implement effective practice and performance plans to ensure the success and growth of our student athletes.
- Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes fundamentals, participation, and sportsmanship.
- Communicate effectively with student athletes, parents, and other coaches to ensure a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Independently organize and manage team practices, competitions, and performances.
- Meet MSHSL Coaching and Concussion Requirements.
- Participate in Saturday and evening competitions throughout the dance season (mid-October to late January).
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Have coaching experience, preferably in a school setting.
- Meet MSHSL Coaching and Concussion Requirements.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrate a passion for dance and a commitment to promoting a positive experience for student athletes.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience working with Junior High or Junior Varsity dance teams.
- Knowledge of dance techniques, styles, and choreography.
- Previous experience with team management, practice planning, and performance preparation.
