Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging and challenging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of English Learner students
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic achievement and social growth
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of individual learners
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum that is culturally responsive and aligned with district standards
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians to ensure that all stakeholders are informed and involved in the educational process
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in English Learner education and to enhance teaching skills
• Foster a growth mindset and promote a love of learning among students
• Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must possess:

• A current Minnesota teaching license
• A strong understanding of English Learner education and the ability to develop and implement effective instructional strategies
• Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A commitment to equity and diversity, and a willingness to work with students from diverse backgrounds
• The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve district goals and objectives

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

• Prior successful experience in urban, multicultural education
• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development through coursework, research, peer collaboration, and/or job-embedded staff development
• A working knowledge of current researched best practices and strategies in English Learner education
• Experience with curriculum development and implementation
• A proven track record of promoting academic achievement and social growth among English Learner students
