Job Overview
In this critical role, you will oversee the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive knowledge base, develop and promote best practices, and drive innovation through various types of data. As a strategic leader, you will contribute to the creation and improvement of analytical methods, develop and enforce standards for data collection and analysis, and lead and supervise groups researching strategic business data and conducting data analysis. Your expertise will be instrumental in providing decision support, business line strategy, business modeling, forecasting, and analysis, ultimately driving value by facilitating data-driven decision-making across the organization and with executive-level constituents.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and prioritize key strategic objectives for the Strategic Business Unit (SBU)
- Provide decision support through high-quality business forecasting, operations, and analytics processes
- Lead a team to accomplish the goals and objectives of the SBU
- Create highly sophisticated analytic frameworks and functional models to forecast the business and provide recommendations for solving key business problems, while growing and optimizing revenues and profits
- Develop and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and business dashboards to enable performance management and facilitate accountability
- Focus on key areas such as business line strategy, risk retention strategies, cost of care, Return on Investment (ROI), clinical analytics, product portfolio pricing and analyses, sales and sales channel analytics and decision support, customer ROI and value analyses, competitive research and analysis, and more
- Develop and promote best practices and drive innovation through various types of data
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 10+ years of experience with increasing levels of responsibility in healthcare, with 5 years in a leadership capacity
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and a basic understanding of SQL codes and programming
- A history of progressive roles, knowledge of medical claims data, exposure to accounting (e.g., Incurred But Not Reported (IBNR)), underwriting, and claims-based cost of care analytics
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- A Master's degree in a related field
- Advanced knowledge of analytics, informatics, and data science
- Experience with data visualization tools and techniques
- Strong understanding of healthcare trends, policies, and regulations
