Job Summary
We're seeking a Senior Resource Specialist with at least 5 years of experience in environmental consulting, preferably in NEPA analysis and natural resource management. As a Senior Resource Specialist, you will play a key role in our environmental services team, providing technical expertise and leadership on projects related to environmental impact assessment, natural resource management, and sustainability. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct completeness reviews of baseline documentation and prepare impact analyses across a variety of natural resources, with a focus on biological resources (wildlife, species status, threatened and endangered species, vegetation, etc.)
- Assist in data review and writing biology and botany resource sections for NEPA and/or baseline documents
- Assist with NEPA analysis of other resources, as required
- Collaborate with management staff and other team members on research, technical report writing, and QA/QC review of analytical sections of environmental documents
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on environmental regulations and policies, including NEPA, ESA, and other relevant laws and regulations
- Develop and implement effective environmental management strategies and solutions
- Communicate complex technical information to stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, and the public
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental policy, environmental planning, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in environmental consulting, preferably in NEPA analysis and natural resource management
- Thorough understanding of technical environmental impact analysis methods and sound knowledge of NEPA requirements and related environmental regulations
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated experience with planning projects and ability to motivate self and others to overcome obstacles and achieve goals
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in environmental science, environmental policy, environmental planning, or a related field
- Experience with the BLM and/or USFS NEPA processes and requirements
- Working knowledge of and experience with mapping software (ArcGIS)
- Excellent ability to facilitate decision-making and issue resolution processes
- Experience with additional regulatory requirements
