Job Summary
As a Senior Attorney, Litigation, you will be responsible for handling a wide range of litigation matters, both pre-litigation claims and active cases, as well as providing strategic legal support to our cross-functional teams. Your expertise will be critical in identifying and mitigating litigation risks and managing litigation dockets. You will also have the opportunity to partner with internal functions to drive the organization's short and long-term initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle general litigation, pre-litigation claims, and all related matters.
- Manage docket of litigation, including various class actions, product claims, contract disputes, employment claims, and other business disputes, including coordinating, directing, and driving sophisticated and complex case strategy.
- Identify potential litigation risk, and work with Legal team and cross-functional teams to help mitigate potential exposures.
- Serve as cross-functional legal support to Finance and Grower Relations teams, acting as a legal partner to help facilitate business initiatives consistent with Annual Operating Plan and Long Range Plan.
- Responsible for a variety of legal projects, including contract review and negotiation, risk analysis for business initiatives, research, and advice in areas of responsibility impacting a global consumer packaged goods company and agricultural cooperative.
- Research and monitor a variety of laws and regulations applicable to the company to ensure up-to-date compliance and to provide legal and practical guidance consistent with applicable law and regulations.
- Work collaboratively with and provide legal advice to Legal team and cross-functional teams within the company on diverse topics within areas of responsibility.
- Manage and work effectively with outside counsel in relation to various legal matters to ensure efficient, cost-conscious (in line with budgets), and effective advocacy on behalf of the Company.
What We Are Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Juris Doctorate Admitted to at least one state bar, preferably MA.
- 5+ years of relevant experience required.
- Prior experience at a law firm.
- Ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong analytical & research skills.
- Excellent communication, verbal & written.
- Negotiation skills.
- Effective at building relationships.
