Job Summary

As a Senior Information Security Engineer, you will be responsible for providing complex specialized examination and support of centralized server security in a large, complex Multi-LPAR RACF environment. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to define customized access solutions, reporting, alerting, and data collection as required. You will also participate in the research, analysis, design, testing, and implementation of complex computer security/assurance technologies for organization data and systems/applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide complex specialized examination and support of centralized server security in a large, complex Multi-LPAR RACF environment using RRSF (RACF Remote Sharing Office), zSecure, RACF/DB2, and CICS.
  • Work with internal and end-client staff to define customized access solutions, reporting, alerting, and data collection as required.
  • Provide production support for any emergency obligations.
  • Participate in the research, analysis, design, testing, and implementation of complex computer security/assurance technologies for organization data and systems/applications.
  • Perform periodic detailed assessments of the operating system and infrastructure components' security configuration to identify security vulnerabilities and provide remediation options.
  • Participate in the assessment of vendor recommendations, new and existing security plans, and emerging security technologies and systems.
  • Lead or assist senior specialists in exploring, analyzing, designing, testing, and implementing security solutions.
  • Lead or assist senior-level specialists with analysis to identify security vulnerabilities and direct security risk assessments to ensure compliance with corporate security policies and adherence to best practices.
  • Assist in computer security incident response activities and technical examinations of security-related incidents.
  • Provide technical guidance to less experienced staff.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 3+ years of data security engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • 3+ years of data security applications and systems experience.
  • 3+ years of mainframe security risk evaluation and remediation experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on Resource Access Control Office (RACF) experience with essentially current and supported version (z/OS 2.3 or higher).
  • 3+ years of mainframe security experience using native z/OS and RACF tools.
  • 3+ years of experience providing RACF commands and performing determination.
  • 3+ years of JCL (Job Control Language) experience.
  • 3+ years of TSO (Time Sharing Options) experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • zSecure tool experience.
  • Active security engineering experience with a multi-hub RRSF, complex z/OS environment.
  • REXX as well as Constructing agent coding experience.
  • Advanced data security technical skills and understanding of data security practices and solutions.
  • Ability to manage complex issues and develop solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
