Role Overview

As a Manager State Higher Education, you'll be responsible for coaching and developing Field Government Account Managers and designated portfolio management. Your goal will be to increase sales, establish formal partnerships, and broaden awareness of Southwest Airlines' corporate travel programs and services to State, Local, and Higher Education managed travel accounts. You'll also play a key role in identifying, hiring, onboarding, and training a sales organization of trusted Advisors in the managed travel industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to increase sales and establish partnerships with State, Local, and Higher Education managed travel accounts
  • Coach and develop Field Government Account Managers to achieve sales goals and grow their skills
  • Identify, hire, onboard, and train a sales organization of trusted Advisors in the managed travel industry
  • Build relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in the SLED market
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitor activity to inform sales strategies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and improve customer experiences

Essential Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in sales, account management, or a related field, preferably in the travel industry
  • Proven track record of success in driving sales growth and establishing partnerships
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills, with experience developing and managing high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build relationships with key stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with State, Local, and Higher Education managed travel accounts
  • Knowledge of the travel industry, including corporate travel programs and services
  • Experience with sales strategy development and execution
  • Certifications or training in sales, leadership, or a related field
