Key Responsibilities
- Utilize Walgreens's prescription data entry methodology and guidelines to process new patient enrollments by entering data into the appropriate system.
 - Handle patient prescription requests within HIPAA guidelines and enter refill orders for processing.
 - Research and obtain missing prescription data, and interpret clinical abbreviations (SIG codes).
 - Resolve all data entry-related exceptions and handle correspondence with patients (inbound calls, visits, messages) and make outbound calls to prescribers and patients on a case-by-case basis.
 - Resolve third-party rejects by assessing, gathering information, making corrections, and resubmitting for processing according to individual plan requirements.
 - Make phone calls to insurance providers and others to obtain information, gain override approval, or otherwise resolve third-party rejects.
 - Provide support to pharmacists, both in-office and in other locations, and identify and communicate issues to senior-level staff as appropriate.
 
Essential Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
 - Basic level computer skills, including:
    
- Starting up and shutting down PC.
 - Using the mouse to point and click.
 - Starting and closing programs.
 - Switching between programs.
 - Saving files.
 - Printing documents.
 - Accessing data online.
 
 - Basic browser skills, including:
    
- Opening a browser.
 - Typing URLs in the correct location.
 - Using a search engine.
 - Bookmarking a webpage.
 - Navigating using back/forward/stop buttons.
 - Completing forms online.
 
 - Intermediate level keyboarding skills (at least 25 WPM, typing by memory, organizing documents).
 - Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
 - Must be 18 years old or older.
 
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1 year of pharmacy experience in a retail or call center environment.
 - At least 1.5 years as a pharmacy technician with certification/registration by the state as approved by the State Board of Pharmacy or a widely recognized certification agency.
 - Experience providing customer care to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
 - Intermediate to advanced level keyboarding skills (at least 35 WPM, typing by memory, organizing documents).
 - Proficiency in both Spanish and English.
