Job Summary
This is a full-time, work-from-home position, requiring Monday through Friday hours from 8 am to 5 pm Arizona time. Occasional in-person office gatherings and in-state meetings may be required, and reliable transportation is necessary. As a Prior Authorization Clinical Reviewer, you will be responsible for reviewing and authorizing medical services, utilizing clinical judgment and knowledge of evidence-based care to make informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct prior authorization reviews of physical and behavioral health-related services.
 - Apply clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills to determine the medical necessity of requested services.
 - Utilize clinical expertise to gather and analyze medical information, applying relevant guidelines and protocols.
 - Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, addressing prior authorization questions and concerns.
 - Make informed decisions regarding coverage and care management, ensuring alignment with clinical guidelines and regulatory requirements.
 - Collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote high-quality care and efficient service delivery.
 - Identify opportunities to improve care management processes and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
 
Requirements:
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., nursing, health care administration).
 - 5+ years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
 - Active, unrestricted RN licensure in the state of Arizona.
 - Strong clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills.
 - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
 - Ability to work independently in a home-based environment.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in utilization management or care management.
 - Familiarity with Medicaid and/or Medicare guidelines.
 - Experience with electronic medical records and data analysis.
