Key Responsibilities
- Observe and follow manufacturing procedures and guidelines to perform various tasks essential to the production process, including loading materials into production machines, removing packs, and arranging raw materials or finished products.
- Collect and dispose of trash and production waste, and clean production equipment and workspaces.
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot equipment, including mechanical and programmable controls, and perform necessary filler, transport, and palletizer changes for changeovers.
- Visually inspect incoming materials and outgoing products, and make minor adjustments as needed.
- Perform and evaluate package integrity tests.
- Assist forklift drivers with lower-level issues with pallets, slip sheets, and stretch coverings.
- Identify non-conforming products, such as poorly stuck boxes, incorrect codes, or labels.
- Identify and report product or machine issues to production, maintenance, and warehouse personnel using plant radios and 2-way radios.
- Monitor workstations and OIT screens.
Essential Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience
- Working knowledge of production environment and machinery.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Ability to troubleshoot production-related issues.
Skills and Competencies
- Manual and finger dexterity.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work on all shifts, including extended hours and overtime as needed.
- Ability to visually identify materials and product defects.
- Ability to hear machine operation sounds to detect jams, changes in speed, and other routine operating conditions.
- Ability to rotate positions.
- Ability to participate in job improvement training and provide broad training on all equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of GMP standards and regulations.
- Experience with production equipment and machinery.
