Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily functions related to benefits administration, leave management, and workers' compensation in accordance with company guidelines and policies.
- Perform data entry, scanning, filing, and copying tasks as needed.
- Respond to phone calls and field questions from team members.
- Prepare and distribute Leave of Absence (LOA) reports and maintain monthly metric reporting on LOA and workers' compensation.
- Monitor leave tracking process for accuracy and timely notifications.
- Track and respond to inquiries related to LOA benefit billing process and assist with administration as needed.
- Prepare short-term disability forms and assist with establishing and communicating light duty assignments.
- Assist with ACA data validation and other special projects as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a college or university, or a recent graduate within the last six months with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Human Resources, Business Administration).
- Authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986.
- Ability to work remotely and commit to a 6-month internship.
- Available to work full-time hours (40 hours/week) Monday-Friday, with flexibility to work in MST/PST hours (or CST/EST with willingness to adjust to MST/PST hours).
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Working knowledge of Ultipro or other HR systems.
- Understanding of general HR practices and processes.
- Familiarity with general office equipment, including computer, fax, printer, copier, scanner, multi-line phone system, and calculator.
- Strong attention to detail, with ability to multitask and prioritize tasks within tight timelines.
- History of working independently with minimal direction.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive working relationships.
- Sense of urgency and follow-up skills.
