Job Summary: IT Service Technician
As an IT Service Technician at Alkegen, you will be responsible for the daily operations and maintenance of our IT infrastructure, including servers, user end-point devices, network environments, and security controls. You will be a critical member of our team, ensuring the highest level of uptime, security, and support for our global operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily server operations, including updates, monitoring, backups, and timely resolution of issues, as well as administration of the Active Directory environment.
- Provide daily support and operations for user end-point devices, including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
- Implement and maintain security controls to upgrade systems and protect against security threats.
- Recommend hardware and software solutions to enhance uptime and monitoring of the IT environment.
- Oversee the LAN & WAN network environment to ensure 100% uptime and implement network access controls.
- Lead efforts to mitigate and investigate security incidents, developing automation and utilizing frameworks to scale protection and mitigation tools.
- Prepare policies and best practice guidelines for IT operations and security.
- Monitor the IT environment for security events, define access privileges, and ensure the active operation and defense of critical network infrastructure.
- Assist business partners in assessing the feasibility of technical or process solutions to meet business needs.
- Adhere to change control procedures and monitor user tickets/calls and demands through the Service Desk tool.
- Prepare reports for review by executive staff and maintain technical knowledge through continuous education and training.
Essential Qualifications:
- Strong technical background in IT service management, with experience in server administration, network management, and security controls.
- Proficiency in managing and supporting Windows-based environments, including Active Directory.
- Experience with network protocols, LAN/WAN environments, and network security measures.
- Knowledge of IT service desk tools and ticketing systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud-based services and infrastructure.
- Knowledge of scripting languages, such as PowerShell or Python.
- Familiarity with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) frameworks and best practices.
- Certifications in relevant areas, such as CompTIA, Cisco, or Microsoft.
