Key Responsibilities

  • Support the company's ongoing financial reporting initiatives that impact GTC, including debt, investment, subsidiary, and hedging transactions.
  • Prepare detailed analyses of the portfolio for senior leadership, global treasury, and auditors.
  • Assist in meeting the company's evolving external reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to ongoing investment plans for the GTC Group.
  • Participate in projects driving automation and process improvements.
  • Foster successful collaboration with colleagues across treasury, external reporting, accessibility management, global accounting policy group, legal, and tax.
  • Document policies and maintain compliance with reporting controls.
  • Support internal and external audits.

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To excel as a Financial Analyst at American Express, you should possess:

  • 1+ year of experience in audit, accounting, or finance, preferably with a Big 4 background or CPA certification.
  • Project management experience.
  • A fundamental understanding of US GAAP accounting.
  • Excellent communication, prioritization, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • The ability to innovate and apply a process improvement mindset.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle, Scene, and MS Access is desirable.
