Job Highlights

  • Location: Remote within Kentucky
  • Start Date: Immediate openings available for the period of January to June 2025
  • Compensation: A competitive salary commensurate with your experience
  • Work Schedule: Part-time, 10 hours a week
  • Caseload: Supporting K-12th grade students

Key Responsibilities

As our ideal candidate, you'll be responsible for:

  • Tailored Instructional Design: Developing and implementing personalized instructional plans and materials tailored to the needs of visually impaired students.
  • Individual and Group Teaching: Providing direct teaching and support to visually impaired students in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Ongoing Assessment: Continuously monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional strategies to meet their evolving needs.
  • Collaborative Support: Working closely with classroom teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Technology and Adaptation: Recommending and integrating assistive technologies and adaptive strategies to enhance learning experiences for visually impaired students.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential Qualifications

  • Valid Certification/Licensure: Holding a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification or licensure in Kentucky.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience: Previous experience working with visually impaired students is highly preferred.
  • Specialized Skills: Proficiency in instructional strategies and assistive technologies designed for visually impaired students.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, families, and educational staff.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
