The Substance Investigation group at Amazon is looking for an Examination Architect to help drive the progress of its strategic data initiatives. As an Analytics Engineer - Content, you will contribute to an information-driven culture by assisting groups in transforming their business requirements into fundamental data systems that provide normalization and consistency across measurements and aspects. You will be exposed to multiple capabilities, from engineering and data science to marketing, product management, and content development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with data experts and business partners to interpret business objectives and product requirements into distinct data assets.
  • Design, deploy, maintain, and monitor data pipelines in support of business intelligence and data science data products.
  • Evolve and optimize data assets within the data warehouse over time through improvement and critique initiatives.
  • Develop and scale business intelligence analyses to address partner use cases and business needs.
  • Enhance the data inventory through documentation of business logic and data transformations.
  • Work with data governance to implement normalization and consistency of core business metrics and dimensions.
  • Help define and democratize internal guidelines for code best practices, including style, readability, and effectiveness.
  • Create compelling self-service dashboards and analyses that drive tangible business results.

About You

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong ability to work with large data sets while developing expertise in multiple tools and systems within a vast data infrastructure ecosystem. In addition to technical skills, you possess soft skills like effective collaboration within a cross-functional team and clear and persuasive communication of requirements, recommendations, and findings.

Essential Qualifications

  • 3+ years of significant experience in the areas of Computer Science, Data Analysis, or Data Science.
  • Demonstrated ability in using workstream management and data cataloging/documentation tools.
  • Master-level SQL/Python/R/AWS skills that allow you to comfortably and independently extract and union data from varied sources.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.

  • Academic curiosity for what drives the business.
  • Experience building data systems for growing sovereignty models, advancing subscription services, or data-driven pricing strategies.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau and Microstrategy.
