Job Summary
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of logistics activities, including transportation, shipping, and warehousing. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including Amazon partners and third-party logistics providers, to coordinate and track shipments, resolve transportation exceptions, and provide excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Screen defined transportation activities, including shipping, receiving, warehousing, and inventory management, to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Perform logistics operations processes, including scheduling, tracking, and monitoring shipments, as well as handling import/export business and related documentation
- Achieve accurate tracking of cargo shipments and update information in specialized software systems and platforms
- Report defined metrics and data related to on-time and next-flight-out shipments in a global logistics environment
- Identify transportation exceptions and follow established escalation and notification procedures to support Kuiper business teams
- Rapidly gather situation information and data to effectively communicate the status of cargo during critical or emergency transportation events or activities
- Perform audit processes to ensure data accuracy in all program dashboards and metrics
- Represent Kuiper Transportation with internal and external 3PL and Amazon partners, establishing proactive communication to inform stakeholders of the status of Kuiper shipments
- Collaborate with internal and external logistics teams to provide excellent customer service in a professional business environment
- Respond with business urgency to phone, email, and automated requests, and follow up on open items requiring action
- Review SOPs and transportation maps, identifying any anomalies or deviations from defined processes or routes
- Utilize telephonic and/or digital systems to communicate with transportation suppliers and others
- Read and understand basic Standard Operating Procedures and geographical maps
Essential Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in supply chain, operations, freight desk, or logistics control tower, or related field
- 2+ years of experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment
- Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift/workspace, including weekends, evenings, and/or holidays
- Ability to stand/sit for up to 8-10 hours (with breaks) and perform work on-site 100% (not remote eligible), with or without reasonable accommodations
Preferred Qualifications
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills
- Experience with a Transportation Management System (TMS), SAP, or other automated logistics program or software, or manual shipment tracking philosophy
- Experience working proactively and independently
- Ability to focus on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
