Job Overview and Responsibilities

In this exciting and challenging role, you will be responsible for providing top-notch customer service to our clients, responding to their inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring that their needs are met. You will work closely with our team to provide support, answer questions, and resolve problems in a timely and professional manner. Your duties will include:

  • Welcoming clients and providing assistance with self-service kiosk check-in and baggage handling
  • Screening the ticket counter area to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures
  • Investigating kiosk technology issues to identify the cause of problems or errors
  • Communicating with IT about kiosk technology issues that require additional troubleshooting
  • Checking that clients' carry-on baggage follows FAA/American Airlines policies
  • Assisting clients with checked baggage handling, including completing Visa transactions and verifying weight
  • Directing lines in ticket counter areas based on departure times or type of assistance required
  • Accepting and activating clients' self-labeled baggage at the initiation station
  • Physically moving baggage throughout the ticket counter area
  • Assisting clients with checking their assistive devices, sporting equipment, and other oversized items
  • Referring clients to customer service specialists when necessary
  • Performing freedom and verification of documents at kiosks
  • Assisting with the physical movement of non-ambulatory clients as they board, deplane, or move throughout the gate and larger terminal area
  • Providing clients with gate information and directions
  • Performing paging activities, such as announcing forgotten items or requesting that clients return to locked bags

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and systems
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

While not required, the following qualifications and skills are preferred:

  • Bilingual language skills
  • Previous experience in customer service or a related field
  • Working knowledge of Sabre or other Passenger Service Systems
  • Experience working in a high-speed environment
