About the Role: IT Infrastructure Engineer
We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. This role is part of the Information Technology Group within the Information Technology Division and offers the flexibility of working remotely. As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the implementation and maintenance of our IT infrastructure, ensuring that our systems are efficient, secure, and aligned with the latest technology trends. Your expertise will be invaluable in driving our technological advancements and supporting our business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and manage both traditional and cloud-based infrastructure solutions based on plans from system architects.
- Provide in-depth understanding of concepts related to server load balancing, WAS clustering, and other application scaling concepts.
- Investigate and resolve middleware issues across development, testing, and production environments.
- Proactively monitor local and remote data center activities and equipment, including UPSs, air conditioning, power, office security systems, and all data center processes and procedures.
- Support a culture of sharing and collaboration among the team, ensuring that knowledge and best practices are disseminated effectively.
- Stay updated with systems technology best practices and evolving technologies to maintain domain expertise and suggest improvements or changes.
- Uphold communication and response processes by responding to clients on system issues, support, and system status, and advising and escalating on any delayed or significant issues.
- Manage and maintain Windows Active Directory, including DNS and Group Policies.
- Offer guidance to lower-level technicians and assist when and where necessary.
- Participate in projects as required and adhere to a compulsory rotational schedule for off-hours support.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training.
- At least 2 years of experience as an organization or system administrator or lead.
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- A Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training.
- More than 2 years of experience as an organization or infrastructure administrator or manager.
Skills and Competencies
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Advanced ability to think critically for current and future business scenarios, including future technology and business design changes to create flexible, adaptable solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of IT business operations, system requirements, and processes.
- Demonstrated expertise in the following areas:
- Infrastructure as Code - Terraform, Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
- Cloud Technologies - Design, development, and delivery of cloud-native applications (Microsoft Azure, AWS, IBM Cloud).
- DevOps - CI/CD, GitHub, Artifactory, or Jenkins.
- Containerization - Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry.
- Server and Application Monitoring - Dynatrace, LogDNA, and SysDig.
- Ability to analyze complex issues and implement solutions and/or workarounds.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with a keen desire to learn and deepen knowledge.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and leverage best practices.
- Demonstrated drive, flexibility, and ability to adapt to changing needs and workplaces.
- Proficiency in Integrated project management approach, specifically within the infrastructure area.
