About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Full Stack Data Entry Specialist to join our team on a part-time, remote basis. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and maintenance of our data infrastructure, ensuring seamless data flow and high-quality data management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, and TPMs, to drive business-critical initiatives and deliver high-impact projects.
• Design and implement scalable, flexible, and highly accessible distributed systems, leveraging expertise in Java or other object-oriented programming languages.
• Develop and maintain Tranquil web services, ensuring high-performance and reliability in a cloud-based environment.
• Work closely with the open-source community, contributing to Netflix OSS and driving innovation in distributed data infrastructure.
• Participate in code reviews, ensuring high-quality code and adherence to best practices.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in our data infrastructure.

Focus Areas

Data Access Stage

The Data Access Stage team builds and maintains an adaptable query interface that enables data exploration at sub-millisecond latencies, allowing Netflix microservices to efficiently store, consume, and manage their data. This team plays a critical role in empowering Netflix microservices to meet their evolving and advancing data needs.

Data Stage Foundation

The Data Stage Foundation team serves as a platform for our own data platforms. Our shared framework and tooling enable Netflix to rapidly improve on providing cutting-edge data and analytics frameworks to the rest of the organization without building tailored platforms for each new framework. To achieve this, we design and implement high-impact frameworks, control, and organization systems that are calibrated for the needs of running our data frameworks at scale.

Data Development and Handling

This team offers a self-service, cleared-way product to empower diverse client personas across Netflix to meet their low-latency data development and handling needs. It enables reflection throughout complex, constantly changing structures like Kafka and Flink, offers a pattern-driven handling experience, and invests in functional automation, reliability, and tools for predictable data quality.

Large Data Figure

This team is responsible for providing the cloud-native stage for distributed data handling at Netflix. It offers support for Flash, to ETL data into the Petabytes-scale data warehouse and access that data using Flash and Voila/TrinoDB. It also provides sub-second latency to a specific class of queries using Druid. We're seeking outstanding talent with experience in Flash, Presto/Trino, Druid, Icy mass, and distributed database frameworks overall.

Large Data Arrangement

This team offers the stage for planning, organizing, and executing large data jobs and workflows in a self-serve way. These stages include essential services that have all ETL and ML jobs running on Large Data Frameworks at Netflix. These fully distributed frameworks are continually evolving for Netflix scale with cutting-edge technology.

About You

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with:

• 2+ years of experience in building large-scale distributed systems or applications.
• Strong expertise in the design and development of Tranquil web services.
• Experience in building and working with versatile, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.
• Knowledge of Java or other object-oriented programming languages.
• Ability to handle multi-threading and distributed systems.
• BS in Software Engineering or a related field.
