Job Summary: The Role of a Bench Lock Technician
As an Entry-Level Bench Lock Technician, you will play a crucial role in our operations, focusing on the repair and alteration of locks and lock-related products, key cutting, and inventory maintenance. Your work will be integral to ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction, requiring effective interaction with all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair and alter Truist Safe Deposit Box locks to exacting standards.
- Cut unique keys for altered locks, ensuring precision and quality.
- Enter SRVs and parts used through BPM, maintaining accurate records.
- Cut keys for pre-cut key and duplicate key requests, adhering to customer specifications.
- Assist with part modifications as needed, demonstrating flexibility and problem-solving skills.
- Provide feedback on Lockshop parts stocking levels, contributing to inventory management.
- Perform other duties as assigned, showcasing adaptability and a willingness to learn.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
While prior experience is not necessary, having an Associate's Degree in Electronics or equivalent military or trade school background is preferred. What's more important is possessing mechanical and electronic aptitude, along with comprehensive computer skills. You should have a thorough knowledge of basic locks and be eager to develop your skills further.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
The role demands a certain level of physical capability, including the ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and to sit or stand for up to 8 hours per day. You must also be able to manipulate small objects with precision and have good eye-hand coordination. Effective communication, both oral and written, is crucial, as is the ability to understand and apply concepts continuously.
