About BJC Behavioral Health
BJC Behavioral Health is a community health center that provides and coordinates behavioral health services for over 8,000 individuals in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Francois, Iron, and Washington counties. As an Administrative Agent of the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH), we serve as a major point of entry for people eligible for mental health services funded by DMH. Key Responsibilities
- Provide crisis support to callers in need and dispatch Mobile Crisis teams as necessary
- Screen individuals for BJC Behavioral Health services and coordinate care for active clients
- Conduct initial evaluations, triage services, and complete psychosocial assessments and treatment plans
- Provide community referrals and interim case management as needed
- Engage individuals and families to form trusting relationships and gather accurate information
- Demonstrate knowledge of evidence-based practices, including CBT, DBT, and Motivational Engagement
- Work collaboratively with team members and across service systems to build positive working relationships
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Master's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Work, Counseling)
- 2-5 years of experience in a related field, preferably in mental health or crisis support
- A current MO LPC or LCSW Clinical Mental Health License
- Excellent technology skills, including proficiency in Teams, Outlook, and internal communication systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage individuals and families in a non-threatening and empathetic manner
- Knowledge of crisis support principles, mental health diagnoses, and evidence-based treatments
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience working with diverse populations, including children, adults, and families
- Knowledge of Children's System of Care and Fidelity Wraparound principles
- Familiarity with psychotropic medications and their impact on mental health
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) certification
