About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Systems Software Engineer to join our team in San Francisco, CA, with the flexibility to work in a hybrid model (3 days in the office, 2 days remote). As a Frameworks Programmer, you'll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure that supports our AI research and development. You'll work closely with other engineers and researchers to implement a common research plan and ensure that our systems are scalable, efficient, and reliable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain the infrastructure that enables our AI models to operate securely and efficiently
  • Optimize the infrastructure for speed and efficiency, including adjusting resource allocation, networking, and storage
  • Collaborate closely with other engineers and researchers to integrate your work into our larger framework and support emerging research needs
  • Troubleshoot issues that arise and ensure that the system is stable and reliable
  • Take ownership of end-to-end projects and be proactive in acquiring any necessary knowledge to achieve tasks

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong programming skills in Python, C/C++, or another relevant language
  • Experience with systems software programming, with a focus on virtualization, containerization, and sandboxing
  • Good understanding of computer systems and networks
  • Experience with tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and VirtualBox
  • Knowledge of distributed systems

  • Experience working in high-speed, collaborative, and cutting-edge research environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Proactive and motivated with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges
