Experienced Construction Manager for Amazon Logistics – Pacific Northwest Region, Leading High-Profile Projects in Facilities Development and Management

As a key member of the Operations Team, you will be responsible for project managing building remodels, electric vehicle charger installations, and other initiatives across the Pacific Northwest Region. Key Responsibilities
In this critical role, you will be responsible for:
- Project management of new construction and renovations of Fulfillment Centers, including capacity improvements within existing facilities
 - Advising on the impact of changes in schedule, costs, and permitting
 - Supporting construction scope review and development with internal technical teams and operational customers
 - Managing multiple projects simultaneously, from small renovations to large-scale ($100M+) new facilities
 - Working independently in the assigned regional area with minimal direction from leadership
 - Preparing reports, specifications, and technical analysis to define design requirements, equipment, and services for capacity expansion and remodel projects
 - Providing technical direction concerning engineering design, building design, layouts, build details, schedules, and materials
 - Surveying facilities, developing and documenting procedures, and recommending solutions to facility infrastructure, safety, and security problems
 - Negotiating contracts and contract changes with developers and General Contractors
 - Ensuring contracts are fit for purpose, cost-effective, and incorporate appropriate Service Level Agreements
 - Providing overall site management, coordination, planning, and specification of business proposals
 - Facilitating and teaming with others on due diligence evaluation of new opportunities
 - Assessing project performance through Key Performance Indicators for safety, quality, cost, schedule, and sustainability
 - Partnering with teams tasked with transition of base building management and oversight of all turnover documentation
 - Coaching and guiding project teams throughout the full project lifecycle
 - Ensuring contracted resources deliver work to meet duration and quality targets
 - Auditing contractors to check skills and competencies
 - Informing developers and contractors of projected changes in resource or work demand
 - Identifying and resolving clashes, design misses, and schedule conflicts with other Amazon execution teams
 - Establishing and operating information systems for effective scheduling and recording of contract work
 - Reviewing designs and ongoing construction for conformance to current building specifications
 - Providing critical review of current design standards to identify value engineering and design enhancement opportunities
 - Comprehensive budget tracking, forecasting, and management of assigned expansion, remodel, and new build projects
 - Receipt, review, and analysis of all proposed cost and time change requests
 - Leading or assisting in negotiations with regulatory bodies and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) entities
 - Positive, clear, concise, and transparent cross-team communication for all aspects of project delivery
 - Traveling up to 60% within assigned regions

Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A completed Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a comparable field
 - 5+ years of experience as an Architect, Engineer, Construction Manager, or other Construction-related disciplines
 - 5+ years of project management experience from design phase through implementation and operation
 - 5+ years of experience negotiating construction, procurement, and labor contracts
 
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience with at least two disciplines within the construction industry, such as General Contracting, Owner's Representation, Commercial Development, or Engineering & Design
 - Demonstrated success in communicating project requirements to various audiences
 - Experience as a facilities manager or similar, with demonstrated capability in planning, design review, implementation, and project management/control of new structures and existing facility buildings
 - Experience in program management of concurrent projects
 - Project Management accreditation or Certified Construction Manager (PMP or CCM)
