Job Overview and Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Sleep Therapy Inbound Customer Service Representative to join our Sleep Central Inbound Call Center team in the Murray Operations division. As a vital member of our team, you will be responsible for serving our sleep therapy patients by performing tasks related to CPAP resupply, ensuring accuracy with product selection and utilization guidelines, and verifying and entering correct patient demographics, payer, and physician-related information.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as a patient advocate to resolve questions or concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Collecting patient and source information and inputting data into our e-Intake system
  • Completing thorough verification for products and services to ensure accuracy and quality control
  • Developing and maintaining a working knowledge of current Medicare, Medicaid, insurance regulations, and FDA and JCAHO guidelines
  • Providing basic technical customer service assistance for CPAP equipment and educating patients and location employees on CPAP supplies
  • Managing all aspects of initial intake via high-volume inbound phone calls and processing related patient paperwork as assigned
  • Making outbound calls as needed to collect patient data and resolving problems in a timely and efficient manner

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • One to three years of related prior work experience in a team-oriented environment, preferably in the medical field or administrative record management
  • A strong customer service background and excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to effectively communicate with physicians, employees, and patients to ensure questions and concerns are processed in a timely manner
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, billing reimbursement, and insurance policies and requirements (preferred)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and practice discretion and caution when handling sensitive information
  • Self-motivation, organization, time-management, and deductive problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

While not required, the following qualifications and skills are preferred:

  • Experience in the medical field, particularly in sleep therapy or respiratory care
  • Knowledge of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) or Home Medical Equipment (HME)
  • Basic computer and internet skills, including Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel
  • Ability to navigate our e-Intake proprietary system and maintain accuracy and quality control throughout initial patient contact and data input
