About Our Health Plans
McLaren Health Plan is our Michigan-based health plan dedicated to meeting the healthcare needs of each of our Michigan members. Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to join our team in a remote capacity. As a Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for handling daily member telephone calls, directing members to the proper services needed, educating members, problem-solving, and creating linkages to the Medical Management Department for authorization of services. You may also be responsible for assisting providers with eligibility, benefit, and resolution of claims issues. This is a temporary, fully remote position that offers a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic healthcare organization and make a positive impact on the lives of our members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle daily member telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner
- Direct members to the proper services needed, including medical management and other healthcare services
- Educate members on their health plan benefits and services
- Problem-solve and resolve member complaints and concerns
- Create linkages to the Medical Management Department for authorization of services
- Assist providers with eligibility, benefit, and resolution of claims issues
- Meet or exceed performance standards for customer service, including quality, productivity, and attendance
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent certification
- At least one (1) year of experience in a customer service related role with direct contact with customers via telephone, email, chat, and/or face-to-face
Preferred Qualifications:
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- One (1) year of experience in a physician health care office environment or high-volume call center
- One (1) year of experience and knowledge of HMO, PPO, TPA, PHO, and Managed Care functions
