Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Customs Brokerage Representative II to join our remote team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing customs entries, troubleshooting documentation discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations. This is a Monday to Friday, 3pm-11:30pm opportunity with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
Key Responsibilities
- Customs Entries and Clearance: Prepare and file customs entries via GBS-CM, ensuring timely and accurate processing. Follow up with the clearance process on all entries prepared, and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Documentation Discrepancies: Troubleshoot and communicate documentation discrepancies to clients and foreign origins, both verbally and in writing. Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure compliance.
- Freight Delivery and Coordination: Coordinate freight delivery to designated locations, ensuring timely and efficient movement of goods.
- Finance and Accounting: Resolve finance and accounting reconciliation exchange issues, ensuring accurate and timely payment processing.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare reports and presentations using various software packages and databases, providing insights and recommendations to improve customs brokerage operations.
- Client Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service and support.
- Scanning and Imaging: Scan entries into the imaging system, meeting allotted and sensitive time requirements.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform general office and data entry tasks, as required.
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent required.
- Customs Knowledge: Basic knowledge of customs operations, laws, and regulations, as well as other government departments.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications.
- HS System: Basic understanding of the Harmonized System (HS) and tariff classification.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, foreign origins, and internal stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve documentation discrepancies.
Nice-to-Haves
- Customs Brokerage Experience: Previous experience in customs brokerage or a related field.
- Certifications: Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified Export Specialist (CES) certification.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in multiple languages.
