About the Role: Customs Brokerage Representative II
We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Customs Brokerage Representative II to join our team on a remote basis. As a key member of our customs brokerage team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring compliance with customs regulations, communicating with customers and foreign origins, and driving business growth. Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and communicate documentation discrepancy issues with customers and foreign origins to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
- Audit commercial documents, apply harmonized tariff schedule codes, and ensure compliance with federal requirements to minimize risk and ensure accurate duty assessments.
- Prepare and file customs entries, follow up on clearance processes, and coordinate freight delivery to designated locations.
- Resolve finance and accounting reconciliation exchange issues in a timely and accurate manner.
- Establish and maintain client relationships to drive business growth and improve customer satisfaction.
- Perform administrative tasks, including preparation of reports, presentations, and analysis using various software packages and databases.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent required.
- Basic knowledge of customs operations, laws, and regulations, as well as other government departments.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software applications.
- Basic understanding of the Harmonized System (HS) and tariff classification.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field, such as international business, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Previous experience in customs brokerage, international trade, or a related field.
- Certification in customs brokerage, such as Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified Export Specialist (CES).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
