Job Summary
As a Data Analyst with Susan G. Komen, you will be responsible for supporting the implementation and use of our ShareForCures (SFC) platform, a breast cancer research registry. You will work closely with our Data Science Manager to monitor progress, analyze data, and provide insights to support research projects and associated programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Platform Implementation and Management: Work closely with the Data Science Manager to implement the SFC platform, including managing requests for proposals (RFPs) to select vendors and facilitating efficient data collection and processing.
- Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor progress toward milestones, objectives, and outcomes related to the participation in and use of SFC. Create reports and materials to ensure internal and external stakeholders are apprised of progress and impact.
- Data Analysis and Support: Support the use of SFC by researchers to fuel breast cancer research and discovery. Contribute to the development of SOPs and other documentation required to support day-to-day activities of researchers in SFC.
- Data Exploration and Visualization: Work with the Data Science Manager, advisors, and/or external researchers to explore, mine, process, aggregate/curate, and visualize datasets from SFC and/or other sources.
- Complex Analyses and Insights: Perform complex analyses and apply statistical tools and data science methods to interpret data sets and extract trends and patterns.
- Data Quality and Governance: Provide subject matter expertise to develop, implement, and maintain databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize data collection, data quality, and data use.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or computer science.
- Work Experience: 2-5 years of work experience in a related field.
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrated technical expertise regarding data models, database design, data mining, and segmentation techniques, including coding skills in languages such as SQL, Python, and/or R.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Communication Skills: Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting/communicating findings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Data Science Expertise: Expertise in applying data science methods and working with health data.
- Experience with Disparate Datasets: Experience working with disparate datasets and/or data from diverse communities, particularly those underrepresented in research.
- Clinical and Health Research Experience: Experience working as a data analyst on clinical, health research, and/or scientific projects.
- Familiarity with Database/CRM Software: Familiarity with database/CRM software (Salesforce), survey software (Qualtrics), and/or collaboration/project management tools such as Asana.
