About the Role
As a Data Modeler at Workwarp, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing data architectures that enable our clients to make data-driven decisions. Your expertise in data modeling, SQL, and database design will be crucial in helping us deliver high-quality data solutions to the healthcare industry. You'll work closely with our team to analyze business needs, develop data models, and implement data governance policies that ensure data quality and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Discover, analyze, and scope data requirements to create high-level process models that represent processes for the area under analysis.
- Analyze existing business system data, perform data profiling, and conduct source analysis to identify data quality issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Create detailed mapping documents covering source-to-target mapping, transformation logic, and harmonization to ensure seamless data integration.
- Design data architecture and strategy using Entity-Relationship modeling to produce a design best suited for retrospective analysis of data.
- Determine the right set of facts and surrounding dimensions suited to perform the desired type of analysis or queries against the data.
- Develop data solution diagrams, including data flow diagrams and use case models, to communicate complex data concepts to stakeholders.
- Utilize your expertise in SQL to query and analyze data, identify trends, and develop insights that inform business decisions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate those needs into an effective data model that meets their requirements.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in data modeling, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality data models that meet business needs.
- At least 2 projects completed as a Data Modeler, with experience working on complex data architecture projects.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in SQL, with the ability to write complex queries and optimize database performance.
- 4+ years of experience in database modeling, with expertise in Entity-Relationship modeling and Star/Snowflake Schema modeling.
- 3+ years of experience in metadata management, with knowledge of metadata management tools and best practices.
- Healthcare domain knowledge is a must, with exposure to HL7, FHIR, or OMOP considered a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
To stand out from the crowd, you'll have:
- Experience implementing IBM UDMH Model - Atomic or Dimensional Model.
- Exposure to one or more enterprise-level modeling tools, such as IDA, ERWin, or ER-Studio.
- Advanced understanding of data normalization and denormalization techniques.
- Advanced experience in Master Data management/systems and Reference Data management/systems.
- Experience with modeling process creation and implementation.
