We're seeking an experienced Tester 2 to join our team on a 100% remote basis, working closely with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction's Project Management Office. About the Role
As a Tester 2, you will play a crucial role in planning, constructing, and executing product tests, system tests, unit tests, load tests, volume tests, and network tests. You will work collaboratively with the team to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and integrate with release control processes. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of testing principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Create test models for product test and release control, including plans, data, and scripts.
- Execute assembly or product tests, ensuring timely completion and accurate status updates.
- Define product test plans and criteria for acceptance, working closely with the team to ensure quality standards are met.
- Assist in the planning, creation, and control of test environments, ensuring seamless integration with release control processes.
- Resolve testing process questions and issues, utilizing excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Update and test release installation procedures, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
- Determine time estimates and schedules for work efforts, ensuring timely completion and effective resource allocation.
- Define and utilize entry/exit criteria for testing, ensuring that testing is thorough and effective.
- Collaborate with the Team Lead to monitor estimated-time-to-complete (ETC) and actuals for assigned tasks.
- Continuously enhance testing skills and build technical and business knowledge, staying ahead of the curve in the ever-evolving testing landscape.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A 4-year college degree in a relevant field.
- At least 3 years of experience with Agile projects, with a strong understanding of Agile principles and methodologies.
- At least 3 years of experience in analyzing data elements of enterprise applications, determining how data elements relate to each other.
- At least 3 years of experience using Microsoft products, including SQL, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- At least 3 years of experience in the analysis of business requirements, functional and non-functional.
- At least 3 years of experience using versioning tools, such as TFS, GIT, or other versioning tools.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing time and resources to meet assigned deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills, with proven analytical, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience utilizing Agile tool sets, including GIT and Azure.
- Knowledge of formal requirements gathering methodologies.
