About the Role: Entry Level Microsoft Cloud and Data Center Inventory and Asset Management Specialist
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Entry Level Microsoft Cloud and Data Center Inventory and Asset Management Specialist to join our team. As a vital member of our Cloud and Data Center operations, you will play a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services. This is an exciting opportunity to build your career, gain hands-on experience, and develop a deep understanding of inventory management principles, warranty process management, data bearing device destruction, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform the destruction of data bearing devices (DBDs) and collect parts and components of decommissioned devices per procedure
- Conduct cycle counts, execute incoming/outgoing deliveries, coordinate security escorts for third-party vendors, and report inbound and outbound deliveries as directed by management
- Initiate warranty claims and process returns on failed equipment
- Develop working knowledge of inventory control and inventory management practices and techniques
- Perform process audits and data reconciliations to ensure all inventory controls are met
- Accommodate inventory discrepancies and report inconsistencies
- Ensure accurate physical inventory tracking and organization
- Perform material movement, including shipping/receiving and inventory management per standard process
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
- Willingness to work in a warehouse environment and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in inventory management, logistics, or a related field
- Knowledge of inventory management software and systems
- Experience with data bearing device destruction and warranty process management
- Certifications in inventory management or a related field
