About the SPOT Team

The Security Posture Insights & Management (SPOT) team is responsible for developing and maintaining the products, systems, and data that enable Netflix to accurately assess and represent its security posture. Our team's primary objective is to drive understanding and management of security risk, improve risk-informed decision-making, and provide security engineers with the context they need to excel in their roles.

Job Summary

As a Full Stack Software Engineer on the SPOT team, you will play a critical role in driving product development, focusing on crafting effective user experiences while promoting engineering excellence and rigor across the stack. Your responsibilities will include:

• Working on front-end user interfaces and back-end services that support the front-end
• Mentoring and guiding junior engineers
• Product prototyping and general work across the product life cycle
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including fellow engineers, product managers, security experts, and internal customers

Key Responsibilities

As a Full Stack Software Engineer on the SPOT team, you will be responsible for:

• Designing and developing scalable, secure, and maintainable software applications
• Crafting effective user experiences that meet the needs of internal customers and stakeholders
• Working with GraphQL APIs to extend and leverage existing functionality
• Contributing to the overall system design and architecture, with a focus on progressively improving software
• Managing and prioritizing multiple projects and tasks, with a focus on delivering high-quality results
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive security risk management and mitigation

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript (Node/React), with a focus on full-stack development
• A history of shaping end-to-end solutions, with a focus on crafting effective UIs
• Experience extending and leveraging GraphQL APIs
• Familiarity with overall system design and architecture, and how to progressively improve software
• A strong understanding of security principles and best practices
