About the Role
As an Associate Engineering Director at Best Buy, you will play a critical role in leading our remote data entry operations. You will be responsible for setting the engineering direction for multiple teams within your area and ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality. You will work closely with peers in product and client success to guarantee that our association delivers top-notch products for our clients and continuously raises the bar on all aspects of the product development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner intimately with Product and assist with driving the product system, ensuring alignment between product leadership and engineering teams and balancing prioritization between new product development and technical excellence.
 - Define the technical strategy and direction for engineering, guiding teams to adopt best practices and creating solid engineering foundations that will scale.
 - Build a diverse and inclusive engineering culture that is customer-obsessed, agile, and highly productive; your teams will be empowered and highly effective.
 - Define the organizational structure for engineering, recruit, retain, and grow engineers and managers, and provide guidance and support for your distributed engineering teams.
 - Develop and grow new leaders, individuals who succeed at driving engineering teams.
 - Lead by example, demonstrating exceptional behaviors, empowering others, addressing misaligned behaviors, and fostering a positive tone and culture, with a customer-centric approach as our top priority.

Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
 - 2 years of relevant professional experience
 - 2 years of experience managing and leading engineering teams
 - Strong business and technical communication skills (verbal and written)
 
Preferred Qualifications:
- Critical experience building and leading high-performance engineering teams
 - Extensive experience managing engineering directors and cultivating strong leadership principles
 - Experience in the healthcare industry
 - Coaching and mentoring a team's project through planning, delivery, and support
 - Experience driving cross-functional initiatives and working with capabilities beyond engineering
