Job Summary

As a Health Unit Coordinator / CNA in our PACU, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our unit. You'll be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, coordinating with unit staff, patients, and families, and performing various administrative tasks. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong and diverse skillset, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform patient care duties in compliance with EvergreenHealth's policies, protocols, and procedures, and within the scope of a CNA.
  • Act as a unit resource and provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, healthcare professionals, and staff.
  • Assist in transporting patients within the hospital as backup support to the Transport Team.
  • Perform various data collection and delivery tasks involving lab specimens.
  • Facilitate effective communication on the unit and between the unit, ancillary departments, and healthcare providers.
  • Assist in care activities at the direction of the MD/RN.
  • Ensure coverage of telephones and intercoms at all times.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and unit census records on a daily basis.
  • Process physician orders from the patient chart according to policy.
  • Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges with the Charge Nurse and appropriate departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in Washington state upon hire.
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to efficiently process information regarding patients.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • 1 year of related experience in a similar setting.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $24.25 - $36.77 per hour, depending on experience. In addition, you'll be eligible for a bonus of up to $3,000 for experienced CNAs with a minimum of one year of experience, or up to $1,500 for CNAs with less than one year of experience.
