Key Responsibilities

As a full-time Healthcare Documentation Specialist, you will be integral to our operations, focusing on the following essential functions:

  • Review and Complete CCM Documentation: Utilize various Electronic Health Records (EHRs) to review and complete Chronic Care Management (CCM) documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Quality Assurance and Feedback: Provide constructive feedback to Chronic Care Coordinators (CCCs) to enhance the accuracy and quality of their documentation.
  • Billing Compliance: Ensure that all notes are correctly delivered for billing purposes, adhering to relevant guidelines and regulations.
  • Facilitating Communication: Act as a liaison between partnered providers and CCCs, fostering seamless communication and collaboration.
  • HIPAA Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines, upholding patient confidentiality and data privacy.
  • Data Team Support: Assist the data team in identifying and retrieving missing patient information, contributing to the completeness of our records.
  • Billing Department Assistance: Produce patient records for audits as required, supporting the billing department in their functions.

Requirements and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

Essential Qualifications

  • Current Medical Assistant Certification: Hold a current certification as a Medical Assistant, demonstrating your foundational knowledge in healthcare.
  • Medical Terminology and Basic Sciences: Possess a solid understanding of medical terminology, basic anatomy and physiology, and pharmacology.
  • Strong Written Communication Skills: Exhibit excellent written communication skills, with a keen eye for grammar and detail.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office: Be comfortable working on the Windows platform and proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • EHR Experience: Have prior experience working with Electronic Health Records, a crucial aspect of our operations.
  • Familiarity with Billing Guidelines: Be familiar with billing guidelines, understanding the importance of accurate documentation for billing purposes.
