As a Virtual Special Education Teacher and Case Manager, you will play a vital role in managing a caseload of students, developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and collaborating with students, families, and school staff to drive student success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Case Management: Oversee and manage IEPs for a caseload of 28 students, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.
  • Communication: Regularly update and collaborate with students, families, and school staff to track student progress, adjust goals as necessary, and provide ongoing support.
  • Coordination: Schedule and lead IEP meetings, evaluations, and updates to ensure continuous support and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and services provided, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to data management policies.
  • Direct Services: Potential for direct service provision based on student needs, which will be discussed during the interview process.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you must possess:

  • Valid California Credentials: Hold a valid teaching credential and necessary clearances to work in California.
  • Special Education Experience: Previous experience in special education case management and IEP oversight, with a deep understanding of special education laws and regulations.
  • Organizational and Time Management Skills: Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a remote work environment.
  • Independence and Autonomy: Ability to work autonomously while managing a caseload in a remote setting, with minimal supervision.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency in using remote learning tools and platforms for communication, service delivery, and data management.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Experience with Remote Learning Tools: Familiarity with various remote learning platforms and tools, with the ability to adapt to new technologies.
  • Data-Driven Instruction: Experience using data to inform instruction and drive student progress.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, families, and school staff.

Schedule and Term
